Demonstrating Our Commitment to Ending Cancer

Lucidus Solutions, LLC has been serving the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Cancer Institute (NCI) for nearly twenty years. Lucidus provides information technology services, but its team’s commitment to NCI’s mission – to advance scientific knowledge and cancer research to help all people live longer, healthier lives – runs deep.

Das Chebattina is a Cloud Solutions Architect with Lucidus currently on an assignment with National Cancer Institute. In addition to his professional career, Das serves as a Regional Director of Global Grace Health (GGH) for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV). Global Grace Health is a non-profit charitable organization whose objectives are to advance best practices in the healthcare industry and provide humanitarian assistance to the poor and needy. Recognizing the alignment of the company’s values with the non-profit, Lucidus Solutions has become a supporter of Global Grace Health’s projects.

As a Regional Director, Das volunteers his time to promote the foundation, conduct fundraising activities, and participate in the organization’s programs and projects. The Cancer Awareness Run organized by GGH in various cities in the US is one such activity. Over 1500 people participated in the most recent nationwide run in October 2022, which included more than 200 participants in the DMV area run.

Another of GGH’s ongoing efforts, The Cancer Screening Project, is conducted in partnership with the GRACE Cancer Foundation (GCF), a non-profit organization registered in India. GGH and GCF understand that early identification of cancer drastically improves outcomes of treatments. Efforts such as the Cancer Screening Project are important for reaching people who may not otherwise have access to or be aware of the need for screening. An estimated ten million lives have been touched through the 1300 cancer screening camps that have been conducted to date, and GGH aims to continue support for 100 cancer screening camps every year. Notably, the partnership recently entered the Guinness Book of World Records for a cervical cancer awareness camp that drew the attendance of an estimated 4,000 people in person and more than 100,000 online.

Although he has no formal medical background, Das was motivated to volunteer and provide leadership to GGH camps. Das has organized two screening camps during his personal trips to India, from which he emigrated in 2005. One of these camps was organized in the memory of his brother, who ran a medical diagnostic center and passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic. On his most recent trip in December of 2022, the camp screened nearly 200 people.

Lucidus Solutions’ founder and President, Gerald Momplaisir, said, “I applaud Das’ volunteer efforts with Grace Global Health. Lucidus is very proud to sponsor cancer screening camps, bringing much needed cancer screening to those in need around the world.”
